Hello! I'm back with three cards featuring this pretty little stamp interpreted in three different ways. If you've taken the Clean & Simple Cardmaking Online Class, then you most likely remember this topic. Or if you've recently visited A Blog Named Hero, you've seen Kelly's stunning trio of cards where she utilized one stamp beautifully in three different ways. This was one of my favorite lessons from the class. I loved learning new creative ways to get the most out of your stamps. And now, Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner are offering this lesson as its own class, Stretch Your Stamps. Sounds fun, huh?For my first card, I used the entire stamp and highlighted the petal-like pattern to create a flower. I really love how versatile this stamp can be (it was on my wish list for the longest). There's so many possibilities :)
I created the petals by first stamping the Hero Arts Circle Design in VersaMark Ink onto white cardstock and heat-set with white embossing powder. Next, I applied Mustard Seed Distress Ink with a small cut piece of a makeup wedge. (It's a really inexpensive way to apply ink to any small stamp images or small areas. You can buy them at your local dollar store or at Wal-Mart. And I usually cut them in thirds or fourths width-wise.) Then misted with a pearlized mist (Perfect Pearl and water mix) and cut out.
Next, I created a flower embellishment with just the petal-like pattern for my second card—and kept it soft & simple. They'd also make great leaves to your flower stamps or floral embellishments.
Lastly, with the same petals, I used them as the flame to candles for this CAS birthday card. The diagonal stripes on the candles were embossed in Hero Arts Zig Zag background stamp and cut into strips.
